Eclipse0
A downloadable Eclipse for Windows and macOS

This title is in early access and will become open source, 1 year after full release which feature the experimental combat system that was cut last minute for showcase in Capcon at SAIT (South Alberta Institute of Technology) and will include a total of 5 missions.

Eclipse0 or Eclipse is narrative driven game powered by RPG Maker MZ. It is the classic tale of the chosen hero going threw the test of love, courage and wisdom, save the princess and kill the dragon gone horribly wrong. Once you pass these surface level story, it is a story about facing the consequences of your logical and emotional decisions and facing your unconscious to reach peace.
The game is a short experience about 5 minutes if you engage with all the reading and options. (Original idea was equipment based but we don't have the resources for that and there was a logic based idea that was also scraped last minute due to Audio resources not being there.)
All of these is presented in RPG maker using custom assets (Aside from item icons) and music and sounds with a hand draw flat art style to paint a Western Gothic style in a flat and erratic fashion.

- A short campaign with a classic plot but flipped on it's head
- Easy to pickup and play
- Non conventional writing

- Mouse & Keybaord Support
- Controller Support
- Touchscreen support
- DRM-Free
- Non encrypted game data

Look, everybody has their opinion on AI and stuff. We marked this game as a game that used AI and said we used it for art but I think it's important for you to also know how we used it. What ever view you have about AI, I understand. I am no artist. No body in the team is an artist. So in order to create the assets in the game we had to use AI. But we didn't just generate something and toss it in. We traced it. It's not best form of art but that's what we did. We used Dream Shaper usually accompanied by this LORA inside ComfyUI running inside my own PC. This execution looks like this:
![]() | ![]() |
So yes, we generate the image or... I generate the image and me or other artist trace over it in accordance to the art style document. The left image is the AI generated image and the right one is our tracing.

The game features dark themes such as suicide.

What is this game about?
It is a classic story of hero saves princess, but this time with more twist than your intestines. At least on the surface. On a deeper level it's about facing one's unconsciousness and reaching peace.
How long is the game?
On average, a full play-through takes about 30 Minutes.
Can I play this on Mac/Linux/mobile?
The game was made using RPG Maker MZ it can export to Mac and Windows and browser or /android according to the engine. We made a Windows and Mac export, but only the Windows version is tested because nobody has a Mac in the team and my attempts on making the Android build, didn't work out. The game works just fine on Linux using Wine.
Who made this game?
A team of 3 students in SAIT (South Alberta Institute of Technology), 2 from Interactive Design branch and 1 from Software Development branch under the team name "S.A.C".
Will there be updates or more content?
There is a minimum road map all the way to the final boss but cut content due to resource issues might remain cut.
